Well both really, but only because Washington say "in no sense"... I mean the law and Government may not be, but alot of people did come because of religious persecution (which is exactly why religion was not in government). Of course Washington spoke with reason backing him up, Fawell spoke with prejudices and ignorance. Anyway, I'll stop now before I get long winded

Oh, snap! And although the country's founders were mostly Christian (at least those that had religion), they came for religious *freedom*. For all religions. So I get what the original G. Dub was saying.
Exactly, it seems today's politicians like to twist things so it is convenient for them, problem is many people who don't pay attention to their history believe these fools!
